It has to be the x model for the big fin (very rare) and has to be the three years only I mention. Here is the badge on that arc I'm referring to.ġ983-1985 atc 200x are the magic years for the big fin cylinder. I read somewhere on the forums here that Honda 200s are just a 185 bored out with the appropriate trans, is that correct? Secondly does a 83 atc185s have the larger cooling fins or am I better off hitting eBay? Thanks in advance guys! So my question is can I take the cylinder and head off a 1983 Honda atc185s, bore it out and use it on my 1995 Honda xr200r case. I know of a 1983 atc185s that has been sitting in the scrap pile at the farm I work at for god knows how long. I thought well if I gotta get a new head I want a 83-85 atc200x head and cylinder for the bigger cooling fins. Anyway I took it to my local shop and the mechanic said I needed a new head(you will see why in the pics). I'll post some pics of the cylinder and piston and head later. I changed the oil and rode it around for a bit and then took it a part to change a leaky head gasket and then found that the cylinder and piston were trashed cause someone ran it outta oil. Bought it for $350 I just couldn't pass it up knowing that it needed a head gasket and exhaust. This is my first bike but I have ridden all my buddies bikes over the years, xr250, xr350, cr85, xr100 and probably some others. After years of searching I finally found a bike and pulled the trigger on it. Hi guys, I've been lurking the forums for quite some time and have been pleased with what I have found here, awesome community, and decided to join.
